My intention for 2025

HAPPY NEW YEAR! We’ve crossed the threshold of a new year, leaving behind the old to start anew. I feel like this is a potent time of reflecting on the past and visioning for the unknown future.

As always, I shy away from resolutions because, to me, the energy of that feels very binding. Instead, I embrace the idea of setting an intention for the year ahead and allow the energy of that intention to land squarely on my lap. It’s always interesting to reflect on the intention from the previous year and see how it played out before sitting quietly to feel into the year ahead. 

For 2024, the intention or word that came through for me was FLOW. With that intention in mind, I allowed the flow of life to lead. Interestingly enough, my life flowed in ways I hadn’t or couldn’t have imagined flowing, which, I guess was the whole point.

Early in the year, I started helping my older brother in his business, which is really a family business as 4 of the 5 siblings are a part of it. For years, he had offered me the opportunity to put my sales and marketing hat back on and help him, but, to be very frank, the idea felt like revisiting a past I never wished to go back to. I left corporate America over a decade ago to stay at home and raise my family, which eventually put me directly on the path of healing, vocation and spirituality. This path felt aligned, purposeful and shifted my whole idea about the way I live that I going back to any type of corporate job felt foreign and left no desire to go back.

So, when my brother approached me again and out of the blue, I saw the opportunity differently. It landed differently, because I knew the intention I had set; to FLOW. I sat with it and trusted that life was asking me to go in a different direction. I agreed to the very part-time position, which allows me to continue to do the work that lights me up, while using a completely different part of my brain for the administrative work I get to do for my brother’s company. It also allowed me to be part of a team, which as a solopreneur is something I deeply missed. If I hadn’t allowed and trusted the energy of my intention to guide me, I would have missed out on this unique opportunity to work with my family and use my skills in a different way. 

Knowing and trusting there in fact, is an energy each year brings and an ask that goes along with it, I sat to feel into 2025. I had already come across a word late last year, which felt like “the one,” but nonetheless, I like to double and triple check. The word that stuck out for me was FREE. 

So, there you have it, my intention for 2025 is to feel and be free. Free from any self-imposed limitations. Free to be myself without question. Free from doubt. Free to give and receive. Free. To a sagittarius, like me, this intention feels expansive and empowering. As always, I don't know where it will take me, but I better buckle up for the ride. 

My wish is that you also are able to sit with and allow your intention to rise to the surface and meet you. May you rise to the occasion of your intention and trust life to lead and guide you this year ahead. Cheers to 2025!
